Modern Pentathlon returns to Hämeenlinna - the location of the 1952 Olympic Games of Modern Pentathlon.
Finnish Fencing and Pentathlon Association (SM5L) together with organizing partner Modern Pentathlon Hämeenlinna 52 (HML5) hereby invites you to participate in Nordic Championships 2020 to be held in Hämeenlinna.
We will have three different competition categories: Nordic Championships, Finnish Championships and Open. The Nordic Championship medals are available only to Nordic participants and Finnish Championship medals for Finnish citizens.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES
U15 tetrathlon (boys + girls)
U17 tetrathlon (boys + girls)
U19 tetrathlon (men + women)
Junior pentathlon (men + women)
Senior pentathlon (men + women)
Masters pentathlon (men + women)
The organizers reserve the right to combine categories. Combining will be done if there are less than 3 participants in some category.
RULES
Where nothing else is mentioned, the UIPM competition rules are governing.
Swimming will take place indoors (25 meters with 8 lanes).
The equipment control for fencing, riding and shooting will take place at the venues. Fencing equipment requirement: Garment 800N, masks 1600N. FIE blades not required.
All age categories will be fencing in the same group (men & women separately).
Athletes participating in pentathlon will need to have confirmation from their NF of their riding ability. The Jury will have the authority to eliminate a rider during warming up, should it become evident that the rider is not in possession of proper riding skills.
The number of horses is limited. In case there are not enough horses for everyone, the competitors taking part in Nordic Championships will have the priority for riding.
The Laser Run course is on artificial turf (no spikes allowed).
ACCOMODATION
The organizing committee recommends official hotel – Scandic Aulanko spa hotel. Prices depend on the number of beds per room. Breakfast is included in the price package.

TRANSPORTATION
Pre ordered transportation fee (between competition venues, 5 & 7 km) is €15 per person. This should be paid together with entry fees. Riding event is located at walking distance from the hotel.

ENTRY FEE
Participation fee is 65 eur for pentathlon, 40 eur for tetrathlon.
Pre ordered transportation 15 eur (between competition venues, 5 & 7 km).
Price for pre ordered take away lunch box is 10 eur (turkey baguette, smoothie, fruit, water bottle)
Pre ordered closing dinner at restaurant Aulanko on Saturday night 8:30 PM, 36 eur per person.
NOTE: All ordered services should be prepaid by bank transfer together with entry fees (athletes and accompanying persons).

FORCE MAJEURE
Due to the current corona situation the organizers reserve the right to make changes or even cancel the event. The organizers will prepare the competition arrangements in accordance with guidance from the Finnish health authorities. Participants participate at their own risk.
